All Things New

As I was running an errand one cool rainy spring morning in the quiet of my car, I really took note of the beautiful display of colors of this season. Spring is an amazing time for new growth and life. It is one of my favorite times of the year. I always love seeing the pops of pastel yellows and the bright orange of the daffodils, as well as the many shades of purple the tulip trees produce. The new leaves begin to bud in an array of green while fresh grass shoots upward. It appears the landscape is blanketed by the white of the pear trees. Creation seems to breathe newness all around us from the flowers to the birds. Even on that wet rainy day, the beauty of all the colors perked up my spirit and made me think of Ecclesiastes 3:1 “For everything, there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”

The journey through life also has many seasons. Each season with its new challenges. Things around us are always changing; our lives are no different. Some seasons may be especially dark and more difficult than others. At the time, it may seem like the season will never come to an end. You can be encouraged and refreshed to know that no matter what season you are in currently, or about to face, God is always with you. Be willing to learn along the way and trust that God will help see you through it. Remember seasons are just that, seasons. They’re only temporary spans of time and not meant to be permanent. Keep your eyes open for signs of the next season. God may just be about to do something new in your heart and life.

Isaiah 43:19 “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”
