Need A Guide?
My drawer was stuck. It had been sticking and slipping to the side for a couple weeks. Even though I knew it wasn’t working right, I’d ignored it until it was completely broken. After some tugging, the drawer came open. That’s when I discovered that the track that guides the drawer was broken. It didn’t take but a few minutes for us to do the repair, and it worked like new. All the drawer needed was a guide.
The same that is true of this drawer is true of our lives. We need a guide. Without Jesus to guide us, things just don’t work well. We may get by for awhile, and though life is scratchy, sometimes uncomfortable, we can keep going. But before long, we find ourselves stuck, and maybe even completely broken. Jesus offers a fix for our brokenness; He is our guide.
Who doesn’t need a guide? The Bible says in Isaiah 58:11, “The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail (NKJV).”
Today, be grateful for your Guide and follow His lead. The Bible tells us that “[He] will go before you and make the crooked places straight…(Isa 45:2 NKJV). Our life’s path may not always be easy, but without a doubt, it’s much easier if we go with our Guide.
