Beauty in Nature

Beauty in Nature

God’s handiwork in nature is amazing to me. The beauty of the colors in the sunrises and the sunsets that can be the softest shades of pastels to bright, bold and vibrant shades. Have you ever laid in the grass and watched the clouds floating overhead? We used to do this with our kids when they were younger. We would shout out what animal or character we thought the clouds looked like. Have you ever just sat and watched the birds around your home or a park? It’s amazing the wide array of colors they can be, from reds, blues, yellows, black, tan or white. Or what about the many different flowers? Some are shaped like bells, others are folds upon folds of petals, while others are like puffs of cotton. They also come in such a wide array of colors. Have you ever taken a stroll through the zoo and really taken in the different animals, insects, birds, and reptiles they have? Each creature was created for a different purpose with different features and skills from the next.

Here’s a tough question, what about what you see in the mirror? Does the reflection of the creation before you create the same sense of awe that watching clouds do? The human body is so complex and dare I say, amazing! You may not like all the features you were created with, but that doesn’t change the fact that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Sometimes we need to be reminded of this.

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.”

Psalm 139:14
